Ingredients

Here are the three simple ingredients required to make Marshmallow Fruit Dip:

  • marshmallow fluff – sometimes called marshmallow cream, you can find them in most grocery stores in the U.S. in a jar/container. If not, you can make it at home as well. It’s basically a light and fluffy topping, kinda like a melted marshmallow.
  • cream cheese – make sure it is softened! Using room temperature cream cheese helps to get a truly smooth consistency for this marshmallow cream cheese fruit dip
  • vanilla extract – a touch of this can really bump up the flavor profile of this fruit dip!

How to Make It

The most difficult part of making this Marshmallow Fruit Dip is probably getting off the chair, and cleaning the few dishes you dirty to make this.

It’s seriously that simple.

Bring all three ingredients for this marshmallow based fruit dip in one medium size mixing bowl: marshmallow fluff (obviously), softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract.

Use a hand mixer to whisk to combine until marshmallow fruit dip is without clumps and smooth.

If you do not have a hand mixer, you can use a spatula or fork to combine it, but it will be harder (and will take a lot more arm strength) to achieve a smooth consistency. But it totally can be done!

At the end marshmallow fluff fruit dip should be smooth and velvety in texture.

Transfer the completed marshmallow fruit dip into a serving bowl, alongside your favorite fresh seasonal fruits.

Fruit platters are some of the most lovely and easiest center pieces for parties and get togethers. Not only is it delicious, the beautiful colors from fruits will make this an eye catching dish on your countertop!

Fruit Dip Variations

Another beauty of this Marshmallow Fruit Dip recipe is also its versatility.

While the recipe for the marshmallow base calls for just three basic ingredients, there are endless ways you can tweak and add-on to play with the flavor or even make your fruit dip look festive for certain holidays or celebrations.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Add coloring: adding a drop (not more than that or it will be too much!) of food coloring will make this marshmallow fruit dip perfect for different festivities such as baby showers (red or blue food coloring), Christmas (red and green food coloring), Valentine’s Day (red food coloring) and much more.
  • Add spices: ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg brings a layer of warmth to its flavor, perfect for the Fall and winter months.
  • Use flavored cream cheese instead: if you have a favorite cream cheese flavor, use it! This will flavor your fruit dip. Some of my favorite to use are strawberry cream cheese and blueberry cream cheese.
  • Flavor variation : you can experiment with using different extract in place of vanilla extract, such as mint extract, lemon extract, almond extract etc.

Dipping Ideas

I usually use fresh fruits when enjoying this yummy marshmallow fruit dip, however, there are a host of other foods that this winter or holiday dip works great with.

Fruit Marshmallow Dip can be enjoyed with the following items as well:

  • Nilla Wafers
  • graham crackers
  • vanilla wafers
  • serve it with a slice of cake!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my mixture so lumpy? I can’t seem to remove the lumps?

Make sure cream cheese is fully defrosted before whisking everything together. You may want to let the fruit dip sit out longer in room temperature, or defrost it very slowly and using 50% power of less in the microwave to get it to room temperature faster before trying to whisk it again.

Can I use homemade marshmallow cream?

Absolutely! If you prefer homemade marshmallow cream, it makes an excellent substitute for the store-bought version.

Can I make marshmallow fruit dip ahead of time?

Yes, this recipe can be made a day before serving. It should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

How long does marshmallow fruit dip last in the fridge?

It should last up to 5 days. Make sure it’s tightly covered to prevent it from drying out.
